About me

Hello, and thanks for visiting. I'm an information designer, illustrator, and visiting professor of design at a few universities. This is my illustration portfolio. All other data and information work can be found at PoppadomCo.com, the site of my data storytelling company.

 

 I work in a variety of media, ranging from code to watercolour and embroidery. Through it all, I try to maintain a focus on sustainable, ethical work that makes a range of cultural, scientific, and historical connections.

I hold degrees in Engineering Physics and New Media Design. For my design degree, my research focus was on telling data stories in various semiotic modes. The project combined theory with practice in multimodal communication, and I was awarded a Ford Foundation grant to pursue it.

Besides design, I also have experience in policy and education. You can read more about that in my CV.

I'm available for collaborations and freelance work. Besides illustration, I also offer design consultations and workshops, create branding, pitches and presentations, research and write data-heavy reports, and am always up for experimenting.
